  • update deleted all my course downloads

    By zeeclass50
I am getting ready to go on a trip. i had a bunch of lectures downloaded. your update deleted all of them from my phone. good thing I checked in advance of my flight. Sheesh WTH?????
  • What the Heck

    By calenair
Great service screwed by the new update. Please reinstate the ability to watch at double speed - 30 minutes per lecture makes TGCP almost unusable for me. Also, the new update deleted all of (the significant number of) downloads I had, so now I have to re-do all of that. Love The Great Courses, but this update just made my afternoon more difficult.
  • Finally - Audio Functionality!

    By Elac Zanzibar
Been a subscriber for a while, and so excited that they updated their app to include the ability listen to courses and lectures without the video showing and without disruption. And how it works is pretty intuitive and cool - one swipe and you can switch to audio mode and back seamlessly. Can finally listen in my car or when I'm running.
  • serious bugs

    By Iconicus
The content is great.....if you can get to it. Bugs: 1. The app looses your place continually. 2. If you happen to be in a bad cell area and it can't connect, you can't play the downloded videos 3. Can't download audio only. It's a safety issue. If I have to download and play the video, I'm going to watch the video.....while I'm driving! I can't help it. 4. The "button" to down load videos is about one pixel big. If you miss it, you start to play the lesson and loose your place.
  • Audio Option Would Make This 5stars

    By SmittyWit
I swear if there was an audio only option where I can just stream and listen with my phone in my pocket, I'd gladly consider this review a five star one and pay religiously. With that simple feature this would be my favorite app.
  • Audio-only with CarPlay is really wanted

    By kittycat262728
Like others I too really want there to be a CarPlay compatible audio only option. I drive an hour each way to commute to work and I would like to be able to listen to these in the car. I'd be way more likely to renew my trial if this were added.
  • Wanted to like this app...

    By Taaza
...I really did. Content seems amazing; but I REALLY need it to be functional as video I can download or stream through the app on my iPad to be of any use to me. The iOS app on both iPhone and iPad will not play video...just shows a black screen and plays audio only. This app does not work for downloaded material NOR for streaming over a high-speed WiFi connection. This is simply UNACCEPTABLE for a app that you are requiring subscribed payments for. I was able to view content via steaming on a windows computer however (interestingly over a low-speed internet connection). Need a mobile solution that works or I won't pay. Cancelled my trial.
  • Audio streaming only please!

    By alpha_gents_go_hard
Love TGC+ and I'm very grateful for all their work but I'm only hanging around since I have heard they are working on getting us set up for audio only availability. I would consider it money well spent for that and they would have one happy LIFETIME customer!
  • No audio-only option

    By Entitled_Millennial
The content on this program is generally great, but the app has serious issues. Folks describe the bugs in a lot of other reviews, but the reason I don't use this app is that there's no option to only stream the audio. I, like many in my generation, rely heavily on digital audio – audiobooks, podcasts, streaming radio – for my ongoing education and to stay up-to-date. I do this when I'm commuting, working, cooking, etc., but rarely as a standalone activity. This is why this app fails me. I would like to engage with audio lectures when I'm on-the-go but I'm not going to dedicate this same time to sitting in front of a screen and watching the professor explain the content. Sure, the video is sometimes arguably necessary, but TGC also offers many of their lectures for purchase as audio files on another website. I don't understand why they haven't designed the app so you can watch if you'd like, or otherwise only use the audio. I suggested this to them about a year ago and they replied with a 'maybe someday'. I learned about this service from a podcast advertisement, so it seems TGC+ is interested in capturing the business of people like me. If they made this tiny upgrade, it would be actually be relevant to podcast listeners. As it stands, I imagine this appeals much more to older folks accustomed to the ritual of evening television.

Hey Great Course! Please LISTEN to all of us! Fix the app!!!! AND LET US HAVE AUDIO ONLY!!!! For pete's sake guys - most people today are audiophiles. We're listening WHILE we're doing other things. I do not have the time to sit and watch the videos, and they drain my battery. I also NEED to have navigation software running while listening. You are going to ruin a great business if your IT Department doesn't get it together SOONER RATHER THAN LATER!!!!! Go through and actually read all these comments.
