  • Great idea but needs work

    By demonboyzan
This is, in fact, a great idea for a service, especially pertaining to audiobooks. I can no longer afford it right now due to their price increase, but it’s still a worthy service if you can. What I mean by “needs work” is primarily the app itself. It’s buggy as hell. I don’t know if it’s just their servers, which seem to constantly be having issues of their own, or just the app itself but whatever the case, it needs update and refinement. Also, while they DO have TONS of books to choose from, they do have gaps, and if they could, in the future, fill those, that would be all the better for them and the customers. It’s a great service and idea, but the app needs improvement so they get a three star rating. EDIT: I got a response about from the developer saying they would work on the bugs and that’s absolutely great, but they also misunderstood one of my sentences so I’m here to clarify. When I said there were gaps, I didn’t mean within the audiobooks I’d listened to, but rather the overall selection of available audiobooks. A for instance here would be that while they do have the audiobook “Ready Player One” they do not have the audiobook “Jago & Litefoot Series One”. As I said before, these are small instances and probably due to licensing issues so I’m sure that in the future there’s every real possibility that obscure titles could become a part of the Playster library. Anyway, that’s what I meant, not actual errors within any of the recordings I’ve listened to.
  • Quit nagging me about unfinished audiobooks

    By doomette
I love the service but really dislike the app. I like to jump between audiobooks now and then, and this app has this super annoying feature that pauses your audiobook and ask if you want to listen to an unfinished one instead. Who thought that was a good idea? At least make it optional.
  • Ok app for the price

    By Jamilajo
I listen to audiobooks. The price is good but doesn’t work as well as Audible. Sometimes even when I download the book to my iPhone it won’t play. Also loses my place in the book and will start over from the beginning a lot! I have had trouble with it connecting to my Bluetooth in my vehicle at times as well. Very frustrating. When it works it’s great.
  • Scam

    By Anger85
This company is a farce. Switch books from non premium so u can’t listen to these anymore.
  • Poorly designed, extremely LIBERAL BIAS

Will not include ANY pro TRUMP BOOKS , even best sellers .. why GERMAN BOOKS? never has audible best sellers ever ,, too expensive , a total rip off
  • Total rip-off

    By Yumily007
I tried Playster bc another program I had subscribed to is no longer offering audiobooks. Playster only had about 50-75% of my list from TuneIn and Audible...and most of these were “premium” books which would require a subscription of $30/mo. No thanks. I can do a platinum membership from Audible for cheaper plus be able to listen on 3 devices.
  • Bait and Switch

Playster promises to deliver 100,000.00 plus titles for $14.95 a month unlimited service but they have decided to change and move most of the books to the Premium service without notice and now want $61.00 a month. I have had Audible for years now and have never had a problem with service interruptions or a title suddenly disappearing like is common with Playster. It’s really a shame that they choose to be a shady company I liked the concept they pitched too bad they won’t deliver what they promised.
  • Audiobook usage

    By Ceowulf
App closes by itself frequently while in use. Also even though you downloaded a book to your device sometimes you have to reconnect to wi-fi to get it to start playing.
  • Not Ready Yet

I wanted to like Playster. However, the poor selection of audiobooks and very confusing interface made me cancel my trial and delete the App. Was this designed for a Windows Phone? It looks like tiles from Windows Mobile.
  • Very buggy

    By Bowser5599
I’m not very pleased with this app. It is VERY buggy. It crashes a LOT. I’ve not started a book yet that it hasn’t frozen about an hour into it and I’ve had to delete the app and reinstall it. Then, I have to go find where I was in the book because it loses my place and starts over. I also have an issue with it not clearing my finished books. So, while I’m listening to new book, I get pop-ups asking if I want to finish my “unfinished book” that I’ve already finished. This causes the current book to freeze, and sometimes reset. The only good thing I can say is the customer service has been okay (only reason I didn’t give one star). I messaged them about the issues, and the app has gotten somewhat better, as far as not crashing as often. This is my first month to have it, and I’m still on the fence about keeping it. I didn’t receive the free trial, and was charged $29.95 for my first month. I’m not sure it’s worth that. I know it’s not worth the $38.95 I’ve seen some saying they are being charged.
