GyPSy Guide GPS driving tour of the Road to Hana is an excellent way to enjoy a sightseeing trip on Maui’s most famous drive. There are 140+ audio points that play automatically, featuring what to see, stories, tips and advice. All the benefits of a guided tour, the freedom to drive yourself. TOUR GUIDE AS YOU DRIVE THE ROAD TO HANA If you like driving yourself when you go sightseeing, GyPSy Guide™ tour apps allow you to enjoy a guided tour experience while remaining totally independent. By driving yourself, you'll be able to get from place to place faster, see more things and not be tied to anyone else's schedule. DON'T MISS OUT ON THE BEST SIGHTS AND STORIES The tour apps use your device’s location abilities to play the commentary AUTOMATICALLY. No cell network signal is needed while driving. All you have to do is drive, listen and decide which places you want to stop at (and those you might decide to skip). Our tour guides have created an insightful and entertaining tour for the Road to Hana on Maui. We’ll recommend the best places to experience along the way and some great locations that most visitors will drive by. There’s so much to see and do, GyPSy will help you prioritize what suits you best and make sure you don’t miss a thing. PLAYS AUTOMATICALLY GyPSy Guide knows where you are and which direction you are heading, and plays commentary automatically about the things you are seeing, plus stories and tips and advice. EXPLORE LIKE A LOCAL It’s just like having a local friend to show you around. And that friend just happens to be a professional tour guide. GREAT VALUE The same information you would get on a bus tour or from a guide book, for just a fraction of the price. And you control the itinerary and schedule. WORKS OFFLINE No data, cellular or even wireless network connection needed while touring. Download over Wi-Fi before you tour. Anyone can use them with no need for roaming data – even visiting from another country. DRIVING TOUR ROUTE This tour includes the most popular sightseeing stops and many more: 1) Ho'okipa Beach Park 2) Ke'anae 3) Wai'anapanapa Park 4) Hana 5) Hamoa Beach 6) Wailua Falls 7) Seven Sacred Pools at Kipahulu plus many more great scenic stops. We recommend giving yourself a full day to drive the Road to Hana and start as early as you can. The tour is structured so that we concentrate on sightseeing as we drive towards Hana. Most people want to drive back without stopping, so we have all different commentary and stories for the drive back that will entertain you and pass the time more quickly. Beware of suggestions that recommend going “the back way”. You are most likely going to be in a rental car. All the major rental car companies prohibit their cars being taken on the “back side” of Haleakala. NOTES Download the app on Wi-Fi from your network at home or use any free Wi-Fi network. Because the app is filled with audio commentary and maps, its larger than "normal" apps. Many phone/data networks may block the download because of size - so its important to download over a Wi-Fi network. ++ Continued use of GPS running in the background increases battery usage - we strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. This is much better than simply plugging into the USB port in a vehicle. ** iPad users - please note that WiFi-only iPads will not activate the commentary automatically. Any iPhone or network-capable iPad (WiFi + Cellular - whether you have a network connection or not) will work just fine. • Absolutely awesome

My husband and I rented a 2 door Jeep Wrangler, stopped at Walmart for aux cable, and hit the road!!! We had a blast the app worked perfectly. Super impressed and well worth the $4.99. We wouldn't have known where to stop or what to do. So grateful for the recommendation and will share with others. ❤️👍

    Still full of glitches

Heard that his was a great app for the Road To Hana. We were extremely disappointed. Every other audio point on this "ROAD TO HANA" app was replaced with a talking point for the Banff National Park version of this app. This made our drive frustrating for half of the audio points. Oh how nice it is to drive along to Road To Hana only to hear the same audio point about the Canadian Rockies. Terrible!
  • Talks about the Rockies!

By Love it or leave it!!!
This would have been awesome but about 1/3 of the audio stops talked about the Canadian Rockies. There is a glitch in their software!!!
  • Absolutely wonderful

We used this app during our drive on the road to Hana. We found it not only useful, but entertaining and educational. The narrator is witty and easy to listen to. The feature of location dependent audio and directing us where to expect parking to be is genius. The history lessons enhanced our visit as well a being entertaining.
  • Road to Hana filled with glitches

This would have been fine if it worked properly but due to an intermittent glitch about a third of the voice narrations are for the Canadian Rockies. Terrific if we were in Canada. We are in Hawaii
  • Great Tour!

I downloaded this app to help us get some guidance on exploring the Road to Hana on our own and it exceeded expectations. The tour knows exactly where you are and gives incredible details. Also along the way it gives you pros and cons of stopping in certain places as well as highlights the must see locations. On the way back he gives you stories about the history of Hawaii. This was the best $$ I ever spent and glad we decided to rent our own car and do this ourselves. The roads can be challenging but it's not nearly as bad as I thought and was a lovely day.
  • A guide and an entertainment!

Even my late teen and early twenties children enjoyed the commentary. This was so helpful for turnoffs and a heads up to be ready with the cameras. Totally worth the $5. Would have used the other tours (like Haleakala) if we would've known about it. Learned about it in Maui Revealed- awesome tour book (sincere plug).
  • Amazing!!!

This app was absolutely amazing. No need to pack into a bus with other tourists. We had our own personalized tour with our own tour guide, and could pick and choose things to do and spend our time doing it. It took us about 10 hours total to do the complete tour and stop at most of the stops. The gps tracker worked amazingly. We also really enjoyed he commentary on the history of Hawaii on the way back. Highly recommend this app!!!
  • Best app to Hana!

I stumbled upon this app and was initially disappointed that it wasn't free. BUT it was the best $5 spent!! This tour was awesome and my husband and I had a heck of a lot better trip to Hana than the car that was following us did (as they did not have this app). Highly recommend!
