I really like the app. I only had one section loaded but after the update I couldn't remember my password and I get a no email listed message when I try to reset my password. Customer service contacted me and I was back to normal in no time.

I hiked 1,000 miles of the AT earlier this year and got Guthook about halfway through. The comments are what really make the app so useful. Commenters will tell you where common water stashes are, the recent state of springs, and small shops near road crossings that aren't listed anywhere else. There were a few times when water was hard to come by and having a heads up that the next 3 listed water sources were dry really helped me to know when I needed to carry extra water or when I could expect to fill up at camp. Great tool.

What an app. This is the perfect companion for a long distance hiker. So much info and all stored in your phone. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

If you so choose, no need for the extra weight of todos and compass. Keep a charge on your phone and this will take you from Georgia to Maine!

Crashes every time I open it after the last update. I wanted to use this weekend for a section hike, and now it’s useless
  • Has re-directed me many times

Use this app when I get off the trail by mistake and it has helped me to find my way back. Sometimes the arrow lags in re-direction, but none the less, it does finally get me headed back to the AT.
